Our Team
Our Staff Team loves people, loves the church and is dedicated to making CPC a place that is welcoming and engaging for all.

Rev. Steven Schumm
Lead Pastor
steve@hiscpc.org
Pastor Steve Schumm grew up in Ontario, where he was loved into the church by his home congregation. “I love scripture and worship, and I get really excited watching people discover Christ’s love and live into God’s plan and purposes for their life.” The call to ministry has led Steve to many interesting places and wonderful people. He has an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary. His family moved from Dayton, Ohio to B.C. in December of 2023. His wife, Joni Sancken, is a professor at Vancouver School of Theology. They have two children, Maggie and Teddy Sancken-Schumm, and two dogs to round out their family.

Lori Berry
Worship Director lori@hiscpc.org
Lori has been the Worship Director at Coquitlam Presbyterian Church since May 1998. “It’s my desire to see people grow in their knowledge of God so that we can worship Him more fully. It’s my prayer that Sunday mornings will be a time that people can come and meet with God, experience Him and hear from Him through every part of the service.” Lori originally comes from Saskatchewan where she received a BA in Music and BA in Counselling at Briercrest Bible College. She and her husband, Quinn, have two girls:
Mikayla and Emma.

Meghan Adrian
Children’s Ministry Director meghan@hiscpc.org
Meghan became the Director of Children’s Ministry in September of 2010. While she loves Bible stories, funny puppets and snack time she is even more passionate about the healthy, Christ-centered relationships that are flourishing between children and their parents and teachers. When children experience unconditional love and acceptance from the adults in their lives, they get a glimpse of what it means to be loved by God. She is committed to surrounding CPC’s children with loving Christians who give them a tangible example of the
heart of God.

Carol Costa
Youth & Young Adults Director carol@hiscpc.org
Carol was very active in her church in Brazil, before she and her husband, Wallace, moved to Coquitlam eight years ago. In that context, Carol taught Sunday school for kids and teens, helped lead fellowship groups and worship services for youth and young adults, helped coordinate workshops and Vacation Bible School, assisted in youth activities including youth choir and theater/worship groups, participated in street evangelism, social work, visiting communities and social projects.
